Reading 2-2 Watford. What a match. To start off, there were always going to be pressures at the beginning of the match. Reading have a poor away record, and Watford had lost their previous 2 matches. The last time these 2 teams met, it was a goalless draw. Lame. Still, this match was exciting, to say the least.

First off, there was a goal which wasn't a goal. The ball bounced roughly 4 yards wide of the goalpost, yet the linesmen (pictured) told the ref, a Mr. Attwell that there was a goal. Utter chaos commenced. Watching the highlights of the match, there was certainly not a goal, and with players and back room staff trooping back for a goal kick, the 'goal' was announced. Watford players swarmed towards the referee and linesman, Reading players felt gifted and bemused.

So, 2 days after the event occurred, with Coppell stating that he would be happy for a replay, the FA have announced there cannot be a replay. Mental, and yet everyone feels there should be a replay.

Watford fans feel hard done by - rightly so. Reading fans feel as though they were given a win - which they were - but wish to see their team win more emphatically. Watford will want to prove they can beat Reading - Reading will want to prove they can beat Watford. Even so, te FA say no. They have to be obeyed, no matter how crazy the situation. Apparently, "The referee's decision regarding whether a goal is scored or not is final and binding."

Pfff. The FA are just too lazy to change their schedule for the rematch. I'd love to see what happened, with tempers flaring in what would have been a fantastic rematch.
