Setanta Sports has recently been stealing all the joy from our lives, merely by outbidding other television programmes. For example, the game tonight between Spurs and Villa I expected to be able to sit back, relax, and watch some decent football between two decent sides.

Hang on a moment, my friend. Go through your TV Guide and try to find the match on the usual channels, BBC? Sky Sports? ITV? None. Now go to that damned Setanta (I'll refer to this as Sultana in the future) and you'll see that's where the match is being shown. Now, unless you're willing to spend extra money on watching a game that would usually be free (after liscensing and extras), then you won't be able to watch it unless you own BT Vision instead of Sky. Tough decision, looks like people will be wanting BT Vision over Sky this season if Setanta are planning to show all the decent matches.

So why do Setanta do it? Money. Money, money, money. Nothing but money to fuel our entertainment deprivation*. How depressing. Anyone else have any opinions about Setanta?

*not completely sure this makes sense, nevermind!
