I don't know about you, but this whole thing about kids learning about sex from a young age seems pretty wrong to me. I mean, think about it, just for a second. Kids are already strutting their stuff around the streets, drinking, smoking weed and participating in sexual relationships - all before they've even completely matured.
So what do the government go and do? They decide it's best to teach kids about sex from the age of six. Try to remember back to the good old days of sex ed at school. Remember laughing at the funny little plastic knob? Or maybe trying to pretend condoms were balloons? Now, imagine that you're 4, 5, 6 years younger. How mental would that be?
According to sexual health charities, though, this isn't enough. They want it to begin at 4. The question needs to be asked - do these people know children?
It's part of childhood to find out about how 'willies' are actual not 'willies', or even 'wiggles', but penis'. It's just something we learn. Same with the female kind, no, they're not called 'mini's' but I'll let you have your fun in thinking they are, kid. No, cooties don't exist, but you can belive that until you're older.
Now, here's my arguement - we learn all about STIs, AIDS, teenage pregnancy, etc. all during sex education when we're in our preteens or early teens. We know what happens, what the consequences are. Yet we still do it. Drat. So why does the government think that drilling into kid's heads from an earlir age will help to solve teenage pregnancy and STIs? It probably won't help. You can tell your kid from a young age that smoking is bad and you should never do it, but the kid may well still smoke.
The same can be said for sex, you can tell the children of Great Britain that sex without condoms, sex before you're ready for a child, sex before the 'legal age' is bad, so make sure you know what you're doing. Kids are still going to do it. It doesn't matter what age you tell them, there will always be the rebels who tell everyone else what fun it is to have sex - and it will spread.
Sorry to burst your bubble, Mr. Brown.
I'd appreciate comments! Thanks. :)
