A chinese woman has become partially deaf for up to two months because of a passionate kiss from her boyfriend. This doesn't bode well for the teenagers of the world, does it?

I thought I'd break you into this blog with a few interesting facts from hicards.com:

  • You burn roughly 26 calories in every one-minute kiss - get kissing, Marjorie Dawes!
  • The average (... what does that mean?) person spends about 2 weeks kissing!
  • The 'scientific' term for a kiss is philematology.
  • The longest kiss on record is 29 hours, in 1998 - that's 45, 340 calories burnt!
Couples are being advised to "proceed with caution" when it comes to kissing. The Chinese woman, in her 20s has become completely deaf in her left ear, and the kiss is being dubbed the "kiss of deaf" by many.

Who does science? Perhaps you can make sense of this scientific explanation: "The kiss reduced the pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear," gutted.

I'm pretty sure that this is a rare case. It's not every day you hear of people losing their hearing because of a passionate kiss - if it was common, then weddings would be ruined, surely? What about exciting kiss scenes in the 007 Bond films? They'd be non existent!

It's pretty clear, we should never kiss again, for fear of becoming temporarily deaf.

Yeah, right.
